Default Cold Idle Problem

Hi,

I have a problem with my Cosworth Saph although the cars always had the problem just never really bothered to look into it until now. Basically when you start the car from cold the engine will rev up to about 2000-2500 RPM by itself. I have taken out the ISCV cleaned it, squirted it with WD40 and then reassembled but it still persists. I think it may be a mapping problem or a faulty ISCV all together as if I unplug the ISCV when cold the idle speed settles down to a steady 1000RPM?

This problem only happens for the first 10 minutes of start up and will not occur again when engine is restarted unless it is a cold start of course.

Another thing is although doesen't really bother but may be an easy fix. When I switch the ignition on the orange light for the Winscreen Wash Fluid flashes and then goes out, I'm thinking dodgy reed sender perhaps?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Flashing warning light is a bad connection.
The iscv is working as it moves, it is being told to move this much, change the CTS, if this tells the ecu it is a lot colder than it really is this will happen, ie the colder it is the higher the revs, but check co when warm as well.
