I just cant understand how they came to this decision. Like bourdais has said maybe he should roll out a red carpet for the person he was RACING!!! It wouldnt have happened if Massa didnt turn in on him Bourdais had no where to go. The stewards make them selves look more stupid by the race...

On a day when the stewards got 2 decisions spot on.

Lewis dive bombing at T1
and
Massa dive bombing Lewis at T10

Why the hell, do they make themselves look like amateurs with a decision like that on Bourdais.

Time for the Stewards to be completely overhauled.
1) I want to see their faces and names (like in Football referees)
2) I want them to make a decision inside 2 laps
3) I want to see how they voted for a punishment
4) I also want Yellow & Red cards introduced so one mistake by a driver doesnt bugger up a complete weekends work.

Anyone who blames Mosely or TODT or Ecclestone OR di Montezemelo for a Stewards decision clearly doesnt understand how F1 actually works!

Official FIA Press Release.

Amendment to 2008 FIA Formula One World Championship Sporting Regulations.

Overtaking moves may no longer be made using the process known as "out braking into a corner". This process is seen to be elitist and experience has shown that some drivers are better than this than others. European Parliament rulings have stated that all competitions must be fair, so to comply with that, persons who clearly have more of a talent than others shall be penalised to enable those without talent to continue in equal competition.
Since the FIA is based within an EU country, it is bound by those rules.

To fully comply with the EU fair competition ruling, all tracks will be upgraded by 2010 to allow all 22 cars to line up side-by-side. No out accellerating or out braking manouvers will be permitted. All cars to be synchronised such that they all cross the finish line together, permitting fair competition without allowing elitist tendencies of "winners and losers".

i had a look at the race this morning and thought it would come to nothing
to be fair, if it was a question of borday hampering a legitimate overtaking manouvere because he was to slow out of th epits due to his tyres being cold, then fair enough

but if no one has made an official announcement then it's a bit poor

what's even worse though in my eyes is that they decided to do it AFTER the race was over, which i thought was only for incidents occouring in the last 3 laps?

Surprise surprise. They'll do anything to help Ferrari.

Did anyone see Max Mosely on TV this week? It was either his home or office, but he had a nice big model Ferrari in the background

Although Hamiltons penalty may or may not have been justified, has anyone else ever been given a penalty for what is realy an expected first corner incident?

Why did Massa only get a drive through and not a 10sec stop/go when you see how much time he cost Hamilton.

Why with 13laps to go did they decide to look at the other incident after the race?

Hamilton seems to be doing his best to throw the title away again

i'm surprised kimi didn't take out the other fella and give massa some much needed extra points and keep him in the hunt

thus leaving the chasing pack much further behind

i was absoltuly amazed at the straight line speed of the fararri's along the start finish, they were just blitzing everything, kimi must have been kicking himself when he saw massa pull that move on that fella who was blocking him, balls of contrete, reinforced with rebar and other tough shit

Is that a joke
I didn't know this and I'm VERY surprised, I thought it was a race??? And as stated above, if they have the same engine power in 2010, what are they going to do with this rule i have quoted??? The drivers that win the races will be "more talented than others" what a load of bollocks

Absolute fucking joke this is now! I USED to fucking adore Formula 1, loved it to bits, now I find it very hard to watch because of all the stupid fucking decisions that these idiots make and it's usually against Hamilton, surprise surprise!

As someone has said I hope Lewis gets a title under his belt this year, then I can forget about it and won't bother watching it anymore!

On another sad note, I'm fucking gutted that Eurosport won't be showing any Moto GP coverage next year, as the trio or Julian Ryder, Toby Moody and Randy Mamola are fucking brilliant, much better than those idiots on the BBC, won't be watching that either next year!

First of all how did lewis get the same penalty as massa after mass efectively tryed to take him out
secondly wot was bourdais supposed to do, it was for track position and he came out ahead wit the inside/racing line, was he supposed to move over onto the grass to let him pass or maybe just slow down and wave the ferrari past!!!!

total crock of shite and even the itv commentators where getting annoyed with it- holding there tongues big time for fear of getting banned by ferarri- sorry i mean the FIA

I think that Hamiltons penalty was harsh but I can understand why it was given. What doesn't make sense is why hamilton gets the same penalty for "forcing" a car off the road that massa gets for spinning a car on track and putting them to the back of the pack.

I'm not even going to bother typing about the Bordais penalty because I think everyone, appart from the Ferrari Fan Boi's, all hold the same opinion, but I would be questioning why it was dealt with after the race when there was 20mins racing left.....

I've enjoyed this years championship, but its been tainted by some pathetic stewarding and rediculous FIA decisions. If I were one of the big car companies involved I'd be demanding some explainations or I'd be pulling out. All that crap about a single engine too WTF? how would it be F1 if the cars were all the same?

JAmes.

ps. I forgot to add why was the ferrari that went into the pit lane exit not punished? That could have been the most horrific accident ever seen in motorsports. The fact it wasn't doesnt mean it shouldn't be punished.

Not being funny mate. But watching (the now slightly ropey looking) Suzy Perry flirting with various riders half her age is not what I want to see.

People knock europsort for having adverts in the races. But the very fact that the majority of viewers STILL prefer it to BBC's uninterupted coverage tells you everything you need to know about how good Ryder, Moody and Mamola are.

Theres still a tiny tiny chance that BBC will realise this and hire the trio to take over, but sadly Im not holding my breath. And if thats the case my MotoGP weekends will slowly decline.

Also bear in mind BBC will not be showing FP2 live and maybe not Qually live. Or the Race live if the times are not good for them. (I noticed recently that Motegi waws shown at 6 in the evening!) Oh and forget about 125 and 250cc races as they MAY be on "Red button" coverage that you cant record from! Or they may not be shown at all if the Bowls is on!

To say Im miffed would be an understatement!

i remember watching that and hearing the commentators stating he just went fully off the track into the pit exit lane and thinkin wtf how can be allowed to do that!
because it was a ferrari? if another car was coming outta the pits then would the other car be at fault!!!!! sucks so much.

It really is getting laughable now though. Anyone with half a brain can see whats happening. Its just a farce and not really worth commenting on anymore. (even though i just did )

Oh well, it will just make hamiltons championship win this year, even more of an acheivement! If he can still win it with the people at the top doing EVERYTHING they can do and think of to try and prevent it, then all the better.

Doesnt do much for the sport though does it.

Moto GP and WSB all the way for me! None of this nancy-ness that F1 has. Just let them get on with it and RACE! One reason why Moto GP and WSB are sooooo much better than F1 in my opinion.

Oh and about moto gp moving to the bbc, yes it wont be as good commentry as the trio now, but it wont stop me watching it of course, and i dont think it will for any true fan of moto gp either.

History repeats itself, this year reminds me of '94 when the fia threw everyting at Schumi to prevent him from beating Hill, 2 race ban just for overtaking on the warm up lap! now that was harsh as it had no impact whatsoever on the race because he let hill back thru b4 the end of the lap.

I was suprised at Hamiltons penalty, he'd already knackered his tyres and had to come in and change them thus penalising himself already.

Bourdais situation was unclear, as mentioned dont know all the data, camera angles etc to give a fair judgement but it does look like a racing incident, no doubt the pit lane will be altered next year for clarity

Massa penalty was fair i would say as it was an easily avoidable accident.
