Default Google Chrome - has anyone tried it yet? if so what do you think

After my old man harped on about it being so good i thought i'd see how it performed.

Surfing the pf forum is so much quicker its unbelievable.

I know people will have differing opinions on it as far as google having even more of a hold on obtaining a users surfing patterns and search data too.

Interested to know what others think.

Cheers
Nick

Tried it, seems no faster than firefox 3.0.1, and also when scrolling web pages with the mouse wheel its not smooth, it just jumps down in chunks, i hate that.

Uninstalled it and carried on using FF

for me it seems a bit quicker than ie, but between firefox not that much. I'll try chrome for a few days, but i think i'll get back to firefox. Just love the i-macro's, recently made up tabs. etc

I thought it was very quick, but it's not particulary innovative. FF and Safari have been using tabs for years, as does pretty much every browser out there nowadays. And the "homepage" of website thumbnails based on your browsing history is a feature that Opera packed into their 9.5 release before GC came out, and I think Opera is a nicer browser anyway - it has some great feautres, including thumbnail previews of current web pages when you hover over the tab....

I like the address bar also being the search bar tho. Thats nice. Tho again to be fair, I can do that with my IE. I just type one word of a web address (for example, YOUTUBE) and hit enter and it goes to Youtube. If it can't find a site with that name, or i've spealt it wrong, it shows me Google search results for that word... Granted the GC one is a little better in that you can type a sentence into it as you would into the search box.....

I won't be using it as my full time browser - I'll stick with IE7 for that, and I share that duty with Safari aswell which I am using more and more... But I'll keep an eye on what features GC comes up with over the course of it's development.......

quick, compact and completely shit, there are no plugins for it or anything, only good for people who just want to look for jokes on silly sites
