Looking for a new car for the wife and a Boxster is one of the options.

for the Mrs it'll be OK, personally i've driven a 2.5, 2.7 and the 3.2s. i'd only have the 3.2s as i find the others boring, but they are very well built.

apart from the normal things/ tell tale signs of wear, the biggest thing to look out for is a worn clutch; you're looking at approx £1000 for a replacement depending on where you go

difficultly selecting gears is quite common of a worn clucth; plus the old handbrake test to check for a worn clutch
