If russia over react to american military prescence in the region, fuel prices might not be an issue anymore.

This is fuck all, people fannying about worrying about nothing, counless times in history America has activley done stuff against Russia, supplied arms or even actually fought them, and fuck all happened.

Why the fuck would summat happen when they are just sending some cakes over to some people that Russia had a little scrap with for a few days

certainly not worth worrying about, itll either happen or it wont, its outwith any of our control and you either live unaffected, or die pretty instantly.

You are 99% likely to be correct.

Im still surprised at america sending military vehicles in so soon though and seemingly without any real talks with russia to clear it as ok first.

What milatary vehicles? Transport planes? Well if they wanna bring them decent amount of cakes, there no choice. No threat to Russia in the slightest.

It was a pissy little border skirmish, Russia didnt and wouldnt try take over the whole country, its fuck all.

I think Russia may have over-reacted a bit and beat down the georgians but THEY started it trying to invade the regions. I'd like to see how the big players like USA would react If one of theirex-pat regions was invaded by a neigbour....it's be a war then and everyone would support by jumping on the bandwagon.

I actually respect the fact that russia doesnt follow the path, theyre ok on their own and want to protect their people, yeah they may be a bit unstable but untill they knock on my door I can't be arsed with the news.....USA supporting a country that tried to invade a region; got their ass whooped and now the russians are wrong for protecting its citizens...fucking joke if you ask me...

Western society should take note and look after their own before meddling in the problems of the world, costing us billions in tax and killing our soldiers for someone elses benefit.

FUCK THAT, rant over.

Dan

C17 military planes, all it takes is some twatty russian idiot to shoot one down, and then bush will get all arsey about it and start deploying shit loads more forces to "protect" the C17's then russia will get arsey at that and all hell brakes loose.

hopefully not, but we've just taken one small step towards that scenario

"Team America - World Police"

They just couldnt resist could they. Fucking yanks.
Would have been better sending aid through a more neutral third party.

I dont think either country can afford any kind of escalation its just posturing between the two as always.

Thats like saying "all it takes is some twatty russian idiot to shoot down one of the many hundreds of us airplanes that fly over russia every day"

Its a scanario that could happen, but could happen any day of the year for years, this crappy little border skirmish dont increase the risk.

If George Bush carries on like this he will get us all killed because he is too stupid to remove his ego from decisions about the welfare of the whole world. He has no diplomacy skills and would be crap at chess as he just can't visualise the game a couple of moves on.

Making a mistake is acceptable but making the same mistake again is not on. My opinion of americans dropped hugely when they voted him in for a second term.

As if he makes all the decisions himself. He just the public face of it.

People make a big fuss about stuff America has done, and done seem to realise in the past them, us, and countless other countries have done a lot more "daring" stuff than since hes been in power.

Even if you don't agree with his politics, Blair is a clever and articulate man who was reasonably grounded and sensable. As was John Major before him.

If you look at Clinton you will find he is also very a very inteligent chap.

....and then you get Bush junior. An ex alcaholic who got in office on the back of his old mans reputation after running several failed businesses!

So you dont think that a load of american planes in close proximity to russians engaging in war makes its *ANY* more likely?

Really interesting viewpoint, lol

the ameicans don't have enough troops to start a war with the russians, or sustain one at any rate, besides, who would look after their oil supplies

Oh yes. Whilst I do appreciate just how much he's now lying in a bed he made himself, it was still very clever (more than lucky) for Blair to leave when he did.

The russion situation: Would you start a war with a country where Mr Burns is Prime Minister?

I was working recently retired navy captain he thinks that America sending in aid actually reduces the risk of more trouble as the Russians went into Georgia with the idea of testing world opinion ..(if they invaded would they get away with it sort of thing).
He thinks that if the Americans sent in no aid and kept quiet the Russians would of gone all the way in ASAP

+2 on Dan above, russia went in hard, were they could have been a little more delicate. But if some one invaded the us would we not give the thumbs up at battering them.

bush is just being a thick cunt as he always has been. Russia knows this and will have a little fun with him. watch this space for a bit of super power banter as they have not done it in years.

Thats all it will be though

bush is giving it the big "i am", but you know that russians are behind putin, as he's the real power behind the throne

if he can tell the british government to go fuck themselves as he won't tell them shit about some fella ho's ppoisoned that spy (and possibly released huge levels of radiation in the viciniity) he's hardly going to back down from doing whatever he wants now is he, escpeicllay now he's got such huge bargaining powers being that he's in chareg of about 30% or the worlds feul supplies and can get the arabs out of the equation with a few bits of plutoniom
