RS turbo ignition live

where is the best place to take a switched live on an rs turbo? the barrel seems to have 2 stages so when the starter is engaged it will cut out any connections on the main live, how do you get a permanent feed for an aftermarket ecu?

Black wires are ignition feed on old Fords.

Take a permanent feed for ECU from battery, with suitable fuse.
