Mafia on the pc. Great storey, could easily be made into a film.

Failing that its got to be half-life/ counter-strike

Was truely ace though, could play for hours quite happily, graphics and stuff has moved on massively, but ive yet to enjoy any other game as much as I enjoyed that one.

Would be wasted on a modern audience though im sure, like trying to get a 18 year old kid interested in a 60s mini, lol

There's all sorts for me - they're all great in their own right:

Repton - BBC
Elite - BBC
Strykers Run - BBC (Never completed it even in 20 years )
Shadow Warrior - PC
Quake - PC
F19 Stealth - PC
Doom - PC
Worms - PC
Lemmings - PC
Star Wars Replublic Commando - PC
Far Cry - PC
All Colin McRae - Playstation & 2
Overboard - Playstation - (Still stuck on this!)
Abes Oddessey - Playstation (Still stuck on this!)
Quake III Arena - PC
Unreal Tournament - PC
TOCA Touring Cars 2- Playstation (so many hours whiled away in front of that one!)

Superior Software, who wrote Repton, Ravenskull, and Strykers Run (and more besides) for the BBC many years ago are still alive, now called Superior Interactive, and have redone some of their games to run on the modern PC.

Actua soccer 2, shit graphics, basic controls (shoot lob pass run faster and slide tackle) but the commentary from barry davis and trevor brooking make games like greece vs turkey priceless,

Super Bomberman on the SNES with 4 players- so simple yet so hard, utter sillyness
Micromachines on the SNES 4 players- Mayhem
Fusion Frenzy on xbox 360 4 players- ridiculous to the point of real fights breaking out!

PC- battlefield 1942 DC final- Still the best online FPS ever IMHO, so pure.
