thanx for replying!!!

indeed im more confused but a bit clearer too if that makes any sense....

so 38's are for more power than a 34? whats the most power you could achieve from a 34? would it need a .63 housing for maximum power?

Yes you need a .63 housing to get max power from a T34

the larger the ex housing the later it will make boost,ie a .63 will be more laggy than a .48......but the .63 will make more power as the boost is produced at higher rpm

there are also various forms of t38,but generally they are a .63 ex housing, with a modified t34 comp housing.which will flow more air.

iirc,they use a t4 comp wheel....

..........not entirely true.....most people think of a t38 as a big old t4 looking thing....it's the recent turbo companys that have modded t34's to make them more responsive....mine is a universal turbos t38.......t34 front (machined out) enlarged front comp wheel and a t4 arse end......(so i've been told)......

yeah....like i said.....63 with modified t34 comp housing

the tt t38,looks like a t4,but ut,or harveys looks externally like a t34.63 but they have a t4 comp wheel hidden inside.

The .48 housing i had was low down power but tailed off top end,.63 housing holds the power to the limiter, not much laggier than the .48 housing either.

a t38 is a excellent turbo pull low down and makes good power an overall brill turbo.
when specced right they will not surge and there is an off shelf chip for it also so no live mapping needed

How do people rate the .55? Will I feel enough of a difference to warrant changing from a .48 before mapping? I like the punch of the .48, but a bit more grunt would be nice.
