Default Bankers Draughts (Drafts ?) :-)

Are they a safe bet ?

Would you release your car having one of these in your hands or would you let it clear first ?

Cheers,

WD

I have done once but to be safe you should let it clear like a cheque, or do a same day bank transfer forŁ30

let it clear 1st mate they can still be forged and they can still be cancelled

I worked for barclays for the last 3.5yrs and this is 100% correct

best bet would be to get the cheque express cleared - usually a small fee but should be in your account the next day as long as you pay it in before 12.30

Yes, done a bit more digging since and waiting seems to be the safest option ...

They seem a bit pointless then - just like a normal cheque ?

They used to be as good as cash but now you can do fund transfers etc and they are easily forged there a bit pointless

No mate specially presenting is the quickest way - some banks call it direct presentation service - usually about Ł15

Thats how I would do it

We're actively encouraged to discourage customers from doing it. It's a pain in the arse with all the forms.
