No, they did exist.
Rare as fook now, they were known as the MT75 sport box.
Helical, with synchromesh, direct 5th.
Quaife's MT75 dog box uses a similar layout, with reverse at the back of the case, then 1st, 2nd, and so on.
Virtually impossible to get bits for now though

and how impossible is impossible bernie
any idea on how much one of these would fetch?
also the diffs? The rear is a 7 1/2 Plated item, he's not sure on the front or centre diff but he says its along the same spec's

Hi ,
I used one of these Sport Boxes in my Escort racecar, great box , good feel and easy to get used to , As Bernie says , the bits are hard to get but not impossible , i know where a new layshaft and gear cluster is , pricey tho ! I used a 4.4 diff ratio throughout and it worked well with the direct top 5th.
