the gears are smaller,,,, the forks are smaller and thinner,,,, the only good thing about them is double syncros,,,,, the ratios aint even that good as the IB5 is for small engine cars aint it
The duratec has a different bolt pattern to all the other ford engines as it is mazda derived, The only reason i want an ib5 is to bolt directly into the fiesta without mods. A MTx75 would require new mouns and chassis fabrication.
What box does the 1.6 focus have? Mine doesen't like to go into reverse without fiddling with the clutch. And even then it will rattle sometimes and not go anywhere.
1.6 im sure is IB5 though,,,,, the way you tell is MTX has a spiderweb sort of casting and the IB5 is smooth and looks like a BC box with a mount at the top of the casing
the engine mounts for a IB5 aint the same as a erst BC box,,,,,,,, you DO know that dont you ?
what car is it for ?
also dont forget hydro clutch system
yes, its for a mk4 fiesta.
A box from a Ka or an RST would NOT fit the Duratec engine (the all alloy one)
I need to know if any other cars came with the IB5 coupled with a Duratec engine!!!
On the older focus the 2.0, ST170 and RS all had MTX, the rest had IB5.
the older spec IB5's are rod change and the MTX has alwasy been cable as far as i know
