Best place for axle stands!
I get scared using axle stands!!
I bought a RAILWAY SLEEPER and got me tree surgeon mate to cut it up into square blocks for me.
So solid now on these, and cheaper than axle stands!!
I don't have a concern about the eight on them now, loads of trains are over 100tons!!

you can also put them on the tca's where they meet with the crossmember, but that's only to move the stands from one place to another
ford do tel you not to put them on the crossmember though

added to say i left the stands under the abr mounts until i had removed all the suspensin and undone all the stuff i wanted to undo
i then moved them to the chassis legs once i'd undone the arb mounts
but i also put a plank of wood between the stands and the chassis legs because they can be just a little slipperly
also added to say that i've got 4 stands so i used 2 either side, you can never be too carefull

you need to be able to turn them but apply as even amount of pressure and you can as too much will snap the plastic
you should be able to get a small screwdriver underneath the plastic and use it as a lever to just break the seal
but as said, pour loads ond loads of wd40 down the sides to get it shifted, but don't drown it as ultimatly this may mean that you'll drown the grease that's in the bearings as well as the abs flywheel is part of the bearing kit
