I've had it for 10 months and i've not had one problem with it until now.
I'm having issues with my runaround car taking 1min+ to start in the morning....Plug light goes off after 5-6 seconds....
Has a 1.8 non turbo deisel engine got some kind of automatic choke? Think it might be going bonkers and chucking way way too much fuel in!
When it does start clouds and clouds of smoke come out
And i mean loads!
Then after running for 20 seconds. You can turn it off. Then when it starts on the key perfectly. When the cars hot aswell it starts fine...... Doesn't smoke when running and it's a smooth drive!
Changed the glow plugs, oil + fuel filter, oil, air filter and no difference.
It's really starting to annoy me but it's probably something simple like a plug really or something...
Anybody got some ideas? What does the heater plug relay look like? Colour wise in the fuse box i mean...
P.S i run this car on 100% deisel not the other much cheaper type of deisel fuel lol

Boss....
It will be the glow plug relay, iirc it is situated under the battery tray, you really don't want to be replacing it at about Ł80 + vat
If you cant find it easily, just trace the big red wire that goes to the glow plugs!
Other than that there are loads of other shit little things to try!!!!!
Are you at home 2nite? I might pop round on my way home from work!

also valve clearances are critical on cold start.....ive done hundreds of the 1.7 isuzu engine fitted to chavaliers,
they wont cold start, owners change everthing in sight, and it always ends up being valve clearances....which are shimmed
perfect afterwards though

put a wire from the live of battery and put it on the wire that connects the glow plugs together and keep it on for ten seconds, then try it,if that fails does it have a primer on the fuel filter housing prime that by pressing it till it goes hard :cryand try again
