most diesels run higher boost pressures than petrol engined vehicles nowadays

i had one on my 1.8TD mondeo and it sounded pretty good. you need a twin piston one or it will sound awful.

it might not be serving a purpose but neither is alot of the mods we put on our cars. its a bit of fun though innit!

i had mine so i could turn it off on the throttle switch, when it was turned off the turbo didnt seem to spool up as quick between gearshifts as when the DV was in use. might have just been me but that was my experience. it was running 19PSI of boost.

also on mine it had a big bore exhaust and was fairly tuned up so it didnt sound very diesel-ish anyway, it was quite beefy. on a normal tractor sounding diesel a dump valve would probably sound a bit gash.
