smoking????????

just fitted new main shaft thrust bearings and a burton power high pressure oil pump.now the car justs smokes its tits off and cuts out.do u think u peeps think it cud the oil pump?. the rest of the engine has been fully rebuilt apart from the turbo!! coming to the end of my tether with this car

the rest of the engine has been fully rebuilt apart from the turbo!!

the chances are its the turbo then

Was it smoking before you fitted the crank thrust washers and oil pump?

quite common, fresh engine = better oil pressure which can cause the old turbo to smoke. would have been fine on the old engine as there was not as much pressure but the higher oil pressure now will have blown the seals.

turbo is fine swaped high pressure pump 4 a standerd 1 and its sorted no smoke . just stuck with a high pressure pump that the suppliers will not tak back coz i fitted it 75 quid down the shitter.

no fault of the pump, the high pressure was too much for an old turbo

theres no smoke at all the turbo has no play in shaft and pulls realy well. the turbo may not be newbut it has only dun 6000 miles at standerd boost be for the engine was rebuilt.
