Default s2 roof

my s2 escort turbo has tiny surface rust on the roof just behind the sunroof im just wondering if anyone has any advice on a good way to get rid of it or any other way they have tackled the problem in the past

mine is all crunchy with rust aswell but that is a bit for extreme me

its just a tiny bit of rust im not talking about major rust i agree with what your saying about doing it properly but where nowadays do you get a good enough roof to replace my one with

its very unlikerly to be tiny, surfact rust is when you leave unprotected steel in the rain, a bubble had come from the other side of the panel its started off in the tray and spread all over inside and no has eaten right thru the skin to bubble up on the outside, the rs i just broke had no rust showing on the outside but was totally rotten inside as was a matter of time before it burst out

wind you roof back and peep in with a torch, get ready for a shock tho

Thats easy... + Why would you want to fit another roof with a poxy sunroof they are so lame!

Go down the breaker and find a Mk4 without a sunroof

putting a new roof in i wud agree is the best way, but you can get it repaired n painted, just dunno how long it would hold up tho
