Bearings.

Bearings.
A mate of mine is replacing all if the bearings in his engine.
But was told that if doing it with the engine in situ, it isnt possible to do them all? How true is this??

It's very possible, just inconvenient to do them from the underside.

How inconvenient? Bearing in mind he is doing the rings at the same time?

To do the rings, the head needs to come off then. There's no way of doing them from the underside.

taking the head off is the easy part though
If he can change shells with the engine in situ sucessfully, removing a head and taking the pistons should be a lot easier IMO.

Ah we were hoping it could be done with the head in place...taking the head off is no problem...we've just never explored the bottom end before
