Morning guys,

Just before i start the car has been converted to EFi and ive been told its the idle control valve.

Had a bit of trouble over the weekend with the car idling when warm. Sat in traffic Friday night and the car was hunting and sounded as if it was gonna stall. A mate of mine told me to pull off the ICV and clean it out with WD40. I havent done this as yet as i thought it mite be something different. can anyone explain how i can clean the ICV out and if i do will it need any different setting up afterwards i.e adjusting the throttle cable?

Use Carb Cleaner, not WD40 to clean it. The CC will just burn up in the engine a lot easier than oil will.

 

thanks tony can you recommend a good carb cleaner or are they all pretty much the same?

and do i just take it off and clean through the hole in the side or does it come appart more?
