I have a brand new bonnet release cable on the way, due to my old one snapping. I have a bit of a problem how do i open the bonnet to remove the old cable and fit new the cable? I don't want to damage the bonnet or bumper. (I have 90 spec bumper.)

 

jack the car up

look up towards bonnet catch just above radiator

use a bar to slide catch along (left to right) and open bonnet.

when mine snapped i got a philips screwdriver to the bonnet vent screws undone them and i could see what i was doing from the top of the car the bonnet was open in about 5 mins

 

i tried that but i couldnt undo the bonnet vents without pushing down on the top of them and seeing as i was under the car it was quite tricky.

 

this happened to me i had to jack the car up and reach past the turbo and everything to get to the catch... i really shoulda waited for it to cool down a bit more first though lol

 

happened to me a few times, jack up a bit, half a broomstick later she pops open

i did but it was a std bonnet, i fitted a rs 1 after that

 

so wot do you guys suggest i do.

 

how many more suggestions do you want?

 

you are basically trying to push the middle pointy bit at the bottom (this is seen from underneith ) to the right to release the catch

its not taht easy, its not ment to be but doable
