went out today to uxbridge and, while sitting in macdonalds with the with and boy, the table next to us became occupied by 2 "louts"
effing and blinding lie god'uns they were
so i leaned across and said "excuse me lads, do you mind toning the language down a bit, there are kids about and i'd prefer it if you didn't use that sort of languge"
to which the responce was:
"what you gonna do about it?"
"lets just say i won't start off by telling your mum"
which shut them both up and they didn't say a word, until a few minutes later when their mum turned up and sat next to them

ok, now here's the rub

i'm a sikh and wear my kara
they were sikh's too as they were both wearing their kara's as well

if they hadn't been the same religion as me i don't think i would have said anything, at least not in person as i would have probably got the manegement involved

Its only a minority scum that let us down, and its this minority scum that we all notice. The trouble is that today the punishment does not fit the crime, and they know it, and dont care.

im 23 but feel im old skool..... i wont swear in public places but if it does slip out i will apologise..... but had the same experience in a restaurant in hayes when these two men between 25-30 were a bit pissed and kept on talking about one of them shagging some fat girl....but they couldn't keep their voices down so i turned around very pissed off and i rudely told them to talk quitely and if they cant then just stop talking, they weren't too happy and carried on so now im mad coz i got ladies at my table and got up and so did they and we were going for it in the restaurunt i won coz they were pissed and one was trying to stop it.

goes to show its not to do with age but to do with respect.

It is not right that you can't even enjoy a meal, but it is up to the maccy d staff to sort it out, let them get stabbed.
The trouble is as said all to do with respect, if you had gone and beat the shit out of them both you would be respected by them, what a strange world we live in!!
My friends lad has just joined the army and two of his friends were fighting(alcohol AGAIN) coppers turned up and told them to take it indoors as there was not a lot they could do if they could not see it.
Both lads wanted to fight so what a sensible idea, they are now the best of friends again!!
I blame alcohol for 99% of it on a fri/sat night, our town is like a war zone, I feel intimidated and I'm 5' 10" and 22 st, do martial arts and go to the gym, but you never know what they are carrying.

i suppose it was down to knowing what they were likely to do rather than what they were going to do

even though there are loads of sikhs about the place, someone knows someone who knows someone else's mum or uncle or the like so if, heven forbid, something was to have kicked off, soner or later, the grapevine would have been buzzing and someone would have pointed fingers

if they were white lads, or black lads, or just your common or garden chav, i would have asked for machelp

on the other hand, it wasn't just me with the kid there, there were at least 3 other families, all with single figure kids who gave me knowing nods, perhaps it was because i was the only bloke there, or maybe they would have said somehtng themselves

you just don't know, but they dind't look older than 16/17 and i've been known to be a bit handy in a scrap, even though i don't look like it

Want me to be totally honest? I;d have said nothing. Friend of mine got put in hospital for doing the exact same thing as you did - politely asking a group of three lads to quieten down a little and refrain from swearing NONSTOP whilst he was out with his girlfriend. They kicked the living shit out of him.

So I say nothing nowadays - I value my fingers, arms, legs, eyes, life too much to bother......
