Default My fiesta

Hi, my first post on here.

I'd like to share some pics of my fiesta. Its a 1.25 Zetec. My first car.
Have done a little bit of modding and would like your opinions.
Its going to be neatened up a bit as the edges are a bit rough at the moment.

I posted pics on another forum I am a member on and they all hated it and said it looked rubbish.
What do you think?

Oh, does it really look that bad.

I think it looks pretty good, good to say it cost £3.19 anyway. As I've said, the edges are going to get neatened up when the weather gets better.

It is a cool little car. I'd like to do some stuff to it, but I don't think I'll be keeping it for long enough. I'd like to get an Escort and do something with one of those.
I would like to put an air filter and a new exhaust box on, the current box is a tad rusty, pipe is quite shiny but the tip is rusted, thinking about a 3" single pipe, probably the one from essex racing that was in the latest PF mag, for £55.

what would be the best performance mod to do first? the one that would give the best value for money.
I think I'm going to be waiting a while though, as its my first car I don't think the insurance comapny are going to like me modding the car,

That mesh would look better if you sprayed the lower part black & for the upper part fitted it inside the original grille

mate - i was 17 once, i did exactly what you did (don't make me put pics of my rover up ) and i have learnt from my mistakes!!!!

If it was my car, i'd put the original grilles back in, put a set of 17s on it and get it lowered

After that, maybe tints, smoked lights and sound system etc. As you are only 17 engine mods are out of the question.

Yeh, I know,

I'm going to see if I can find a front grille on a wrecked car in a scrap yard somewhere (god knows where), then I still have the original if I mess it up.

The black fins ont he original are the same peice of plastic as the bodywork bit, its all one peice, which means dremmelling.

I can't afford new wheels or anything at the moment. I would like to get some though, Can you fit 17" alloys ot the fiesta without having to modify the arches? I might just out some nice 15" ones on when I have money, keep acceleration up.

yeah 15s would lok god on the fez, speak to youngdan on here, i beleive he had a fiesta on 17s.

But if you can't afford to do stuff to it, then just leave it alone, and save up for some proper mods. £3.19 isn't going to make it look good

Now get that mesh off!!

I might be getting a grille for it, standard one from ebay or scrapyard and then cut the plastic fins out and fit the mesh to that. Would keep the lines of the body then.

I know £3.19 won't make it look good. I was bored and just wanted to make it look a little different.

I don't actually like the chrom grills. I don't know why, they just don't look right. I'll just get a normal one and paint then fix the mesh behind. I think theres one on ebay at the moment for £3.50 with £5.75 delivery, cheapest on there I think. Might also see if the local car breaker/scrapyard has anything.

I didnt think the mesh looks THAT bad, but whatever you do dont get clear rear lights and DONT spray the originals black so that it barely lets light through(as some people do)
Also id leave the engine mods if you dont have much cash to spare, because you arent going to get any noticeable gains from sticking on a K&N filter or exhaust etc so just save for some more worth while mods like nice wheels and a drop as said above

it's a good base and it is easy to try and spend a fiver here a fiver there sticking bits on, but it will look pants.

As said, keep the original parts, get it lowered a little, get some 15's - maybe better off with a set of ZS wheels, cost about 150 with good tyres on.

If you find some cheap enough, get a set of front recaro's and fit MK3 subframes to them, will make you will like your doing 100mph stood still.

maybe spray the grills in a matt black.

Have a look at the euro look fiesta's on various sites, clean smooth sublte mods, less is better type of thing.

Forget engine mods, they will make no differnce in performance so not woth the cash.

get onto www.zsoc.com they have bits come up for sale all the time.

See below picture of my girlfriends car. It's a newer shape Fiesta, but these are 18" rims. It's lowered 25mm and there's no rubbing on the arches.

You'll be fine with 17's

BTW, lose the mesh
