Vauxhall engine codes all actally mean something letter by letter

Like for example:

C20LET

C= Catalyst
20 = 2.0 litre
L = Low compression
E = Fuel injected
T = Turbo

Quite a good idea I reckon

With every car manufacturer in the world, the "symbol" for injection is "I" - why in the hell would Vauxhall use an E to designate injection?

The C doesnt strictly mean "cat" that part of the code relates to which emission regs it meets

Z = euro 4
Y = euro 3
X = euro 2
C = euro 1
