I thought the Victoria Cross 50p's are hard to find but recently a mate in the pub who i am in competition with to find the most has found a 50p with one soldier carrying another soldier is this just as rare or has he won the collector battle!

There must be over 10 of those ones in my work, see the amount of different 50p's I have...you collectors would be having an orgasam!

I collect coins, the rarest 50p has a DALEK on it, as were never circulated.

I have a few 50p's, probably not very rare though- the only one i have that i havent seen two of is an Isle of Man TT with 2 bikes on.

What about the £2 coins where the queen is wearing a necklace? Are they rare?

I got two of the IOM ones with two bikes on, as well as GUERNSEY/JERSEY/GIBRALTER, and EIRE(old), and EAST CARIBBEAN STATES, ONE DOLLAR, which look quite similar, but 10 sided not 7 sided.

i made a seat once with 50p's, worth about 50 grand

 

i've got a efw of the queens necklace £2 coins
and i've got 2 victoria cross 50p's as well
and a few others, not to collect ut just because they are different

if i needed to go and buyu a paper i'd use something else, but it's not one of those things you can put on ebay is it?

i found 50p in my front garden yesterday, looks a bit manky tho so i might see if cillit bang shit really works lol

Anyway, does anyone know anything about the old style 50p's that had the ring of hands on them? My uncle collected them. When the smaller 50p came in he gave me and my sister a few. Now i cant remember how many. Arew they collectors pieces or worthless now?

Don't know if they have any value (I'd guess not) but this 50p coin was issued in 1973 to commemorate the United Kingdom’s accession to the European Economic Community. The inscription “50 PENCE” and the date of the year, surrounded by nine hands, symbolising the nine members of the Community (the small, dainty hand on the right is supposed to represent the Queen), clasping one another in a mutual gesture of trust, assistance and friendship. Designed by David Wynne.

I got some original £2 coins, without the shiny silver centre piece, all one colour, as outside colour of normal £2 coin.
My fave coin though is the old 1/2 penny that I recovered from the bottom of the pool on base(lakenheath), nearly drowning myself while trying to impress the (gorgeous) instructor!!
