Hmm really is basically undo the bolt type connections on each end of filter and replace, there will obviously be a bit of fuel there so get something to catch it in , its very easy

As above, they hold quite a bit of fuel, there is also one bolt holdin the filter to bracket which often breaks, the captive nut, so will most likely have to effect a repair here ?, but very easy to do.
MIne surged like buggery after filter, just let it run for 5 minutes it was up/down/up/down, mostly up to around 2500rpm, but settled down after this.
The difference on the road was amazing though, far more bottom end than before!!, so well worth doing.
The filter is "HANDED" so only goes in one way with an arrow so you can't get it wrong as bolts are a different size and will not fit each other, don't lose the copper washers and make sure the sealing faces are nice and clean.

don't try and re-use the copper washers, they will leak - always get new

My ones did not leak, and have never had any that did, although I do check, if they did I would heat them up to cherry red and drop them in oil to reanneal them as it's cheaper.

even halfords do them

most garages will have a service kit full of them and will usually give you some for a drink

Every one I have done has leaked when using the old washers - Tab's trick of heating them helped a lot but we still had a very tiny leak. Now done it 4 times with new washers and it worked every time bar one... that was because the actual union had been damaged by not sitting well on a re-used washer... there was a very light score and that was enough to make it leak.
