Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2X 2.13, 4.26 Effective
4.26 Effective <<------ think they are talking shit

While the concept of multiple processors sounds very appealing, there is a major caveat to this ability. In order for the true benefits of the multiple processors to be seen, the software that is running on the computer must be written to support multithreading. Without the software supporting such a feature, threads will be primarily run through a single processor thus degrading the efficiency.

Thankfully, all of the major current operating systems have multithreading capability. But the multithreading must also be written into the application software. Most of the applications that the average user runs currently do not have this. As a result, any speed benefits will solely be from the operating system being able to separate applications between the processors.
It will never be as quick as a true SMP system

Element Tech systems sold via eBay DO NOT ship with operating systems.

I would'nt cough up that much for one but if your happy thats all that matters

If I was looking for a gaming PC in that price range I would look at the Dell XPS myself

Judging by that comment id say what was said above has gone over his head

Ill make it simple, yes it will play top games but a 7600GT isnt going to set the world on fire, its a good card but dont expect to run new games on the highest settings.
The rest of the pc is capable, just need a better graphics thats all, but you should enjoy the card you have until you crave more graphics power like i did!

The case is great by the way, very good brand and its the same one ive had for about 5months now, looks nice and keeps everything cool(which is a good thing)

Im guessing thatll work ok, not much older than 2142 really is it?
I went round comparing prices and it was a good price, I aint a computer boff but im sure I can upgrade the card in 6/12 months time to something more manly

Yeah call of duty 1 or 2 is about the same graphics power needs as 2142.

And this is the card ive been running for about 8months http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=535280
Except mine is made by Leadtek, i know that seems alot but it plays all new games at max settings and they look great/smooth( im talking playstation 3 graphics)

You can pick up a OEM xp disc(just the cd and code) for about £50 on Ebuyer, its worth having a copy of the disc because if ever you need to do a fresh format of the hard drive you cant unless you have the cd, all you can do is what they call a repair which isnt the same thing, might be something to think about
