To cut a long story short i got shafted on ebay, i bought a new nokia n73 off there, and now it has been barred by a network it was purchased from

Is there anyway to find out the network responsible for this bar, or can the phone be unblocked by other means

 

barred by network, prettymuch a stolen phone, getting a new imei no for it, not likely very illega, only reason to get this, is cos the phones stolen.

 

i rang orange, and they checked the emi number on the national database, they said it was barred, by a network, but wouldnt say which one

 

Fucking Mobile Phone sales on Ebay, it sucks. DONT ANYONE BUY A PHONE FROM EBAY!!

There is just so much dodgy shit going on on there.

 

If its barred, its probally a phone thats still in contract but the owner didnt complete it.
Oh and dont use ebay for ANYTHING

That phone will only be any good now as a paper weight.

The IMEI is blocked from paging all networks so even an unlock wont cure it- as used to be the case.

THe phone will be very much stolen.

Sorry to break it to you- anyone offering to change the IMEI is likely to have the morals of a people trafficer as it is seriously bad show and if caught will be sent down for 5 years.

it will work in different countries, list on ebay worldwide then buy a legal one properly lol!

 

What Shings said! Also if the person sold their upgraded phone and are still within the contract they got it on, but don't pay up then it can also be blocked (at least I think that's how it works as I've heard about that before).

if it is or was unlocked to use any network it will work outside the u.k
and just b chance i,m in sweden ,sorry you got stung but if you can,t get your cash back from the seller..........how much you looking for it?
