Chop, best bet is get it MOT'd and produce - can't see that they'll do much if genuine mistake and passes MOT before he produces.....

If the bobby could be arsed to do an offence report for that! you should only get a warning letter through the post, no points & no fine.

Get a new mOT. Say could not find the old one and can't remember when it was done so got a new one.

If it was alright now it must have been alright then!

I took my Fiesta on a 2-mile drive to this big open spot near me to do a full circle each way to check for rubbing. My MOT was booked for the following day, I'd been away for months and wanted to check everything prior to the MOT. So I did my circle, handbrake on, checked all my texts, JUST setting off and a cop car came towards me. I set off, watched them turn in my rearview and they pulled me. I jumped out and told em tax and MOT were overdue, that I had an MOT booked etc. They went for a producer and benefit of the doubt. Funny thing is, my car has a Mondeo TDI in it, and I bought a VW red "TDI" badge for the tailgate. My producer was for a red Fiesta TDI Mk3

I got pulled with no MOT or Tax a while back, got given a producer.
Got it MOT'd the following (and it went straight through ) then i went down to the police station at 1.30am (hoping to catch them tired and not to realise it was mot'd after the producer)

Well the old bitch did and said she'd have to state that i was unable to produce the test certificate.

Then I get a summons to court. I went, said i lost it, so i got it MOT'd the day after it was brought to my attention.
Got off with having to repay 3 months back payment on roadtax

I got my MOT the next morning then drove the 40 mins to the police station before noon! The guy was about the most dense individual I've tried speaking English too, didn't notice I got the MOT AND TAX about 53 minutes prior to dropping in

I live in the middle of nowhere, and have never seen a police car within 5-10 miles of my house, was just my luck! Lesson learned though

After stresing about the consequenses of the above I today bit the bullet got suited up went with my documents to the Police station.

As above the Desk Seargent was satisfied that it was merely an oversite, and that 2 days was neither here nor there. The fact that I'd got the car Tested as soon as I realised the Mot was up aided big time.

'Mistakes and oversites are a fact of life, had there been other offences I'd have had a coleuge come and have a chat. Thanks for your honesty'
was more or less how he summerised.

Lucky or What A lesson learned the hard way me thinks, I'll be keeping track of Mot expiry dates from now on!
