Default what a sh*tty day I'm having....

Just had my car (my £300 cavalier) towed form outside my work at lunch by cowboy clampers

They want £300 CASH for it by monday

Told them they can keep it as payment and they have said no, so what happens if I just leave it? THey hold it for 21 days and then take me to court, whilst EVERYDAY the price goes UP!!

Feeling absolutly awful don't have that kinda money just laying around so now have to borrow from my Mum who is strapped for cash aswell.

Feel for you mate they are absolute bastards. Its outrageous that they can take your car then hold it to ransom until you pay whatever they decide to charge.

Is there any law to say that you have to pay for your car back ???

Surely you are entitled to make the decision that the release fee is simply not in line with the value of the car and therefore it is their fault for towing away a cheap car and then asking for its value back in a fine......... just tell them you don't want and they can have it for nothing

Won't do it, already told them they can have my keys and log book but they won't, it's £300 cash or court action and a huge bill. Looks like I'm paying for his night out I guess. Absolute wankers.

just make up a name and address and put it on the logbook, date it 3 days ago, send off your copy to dvla(send it signed for), ignore the wankers in the clampers place, when any notices come through, photocopy them, and then return the original with a covering letter saying the car does not belong to you, suggest they contact dvla (photocopy all correspondance both ways), they will try to take you to court, tell them to suck a fat one, and that you will take this up with the police and courts for harrassment and fraudelently demanding money, tell them you cannot remember the person you sold the car to and that all the information has been passed to the dvla, tell them the car is no longer your responsibility and that you sold the car in good faith, they will lie, cheat, threaten, frighten and be a general pain in the arse for about 3-4 weeks, after about a month contact dvla and inform them that you are being harrassed for a vehicle which you sold and ask them what they are playing at and why are you still being harassed if they have had all the correct information (do not phone/contact dvla under any circumstances for the first 2 weeks)
Dvla will update there files showing that you had sold the car 3 days previous to the offence and that you are not responsible!!!!!

it worked for me, i had run 3 camera's in an old scorpio at over a hundred, letters came through and after playing the numbers game i walked away scott free all but for the £375 for the granny

you just have to ask yourself is it worth it, it was for me but i was looking at a big ban

what have you got to lose??????

remember once you start there is no turning back and you have to see it through or you are liable for fraud

Send them a letter acknowledging that they have took the vehicle and then invoice them for the same amount as they want from you. Then to take the piss even further go to the small claims court and register your claim against them and feck them with a judgement ......

It probably wont work, but it'll be worth a go just to have judgement against them

Or just got out and get lashed ...On the plus side you wont get nicked for drink driving

100% correct, especially helped by the highlighted problems of the post in this country at the moment.
When I had my old fiesta towed I went to pick it up (it had no tax for a year). The clerk at the desk said pay the fine, buy tax, get MOT, get insurance etc etc. All I did was say can I have my belongings please. They let me in I got all my stuff out, then buggered off.
When I got home I sent the log book off and filled it out in the name of the company that towed the car, back dated 3 days
Never heard a bean after.

Yep, fook paying them, if the car ain't worth £300 then spend the money on another car instead of giving it them.

Get that log book off.

All depends on what has been said between you and the clampers and if they have seen you face to face.

They have seen me face to face a few times, and they have already been threatning towards me and my boss on another car (one of our hire cars, which they took £400 of us for). They know exactly where I work and obviously what I look like, I get the feeling that if I fuck them off my legs are gonna get broken. And these guys are fookin huge, and I am just a little scrawny guy

I think the idea given is fuckin awsome and would never have thought it in that much detail, thank you very much for that advice, but i reckon if I do it, then I'm gonna get hassle

I know it doesnt help you - but might make you feel better....

We used to get a bully boy clamper in our yard at work (claimed to be working for the landlord of the buildings opposite) He made a total pain in the arse of himself, clamping our customers, pissing them and us off enitrely.
One day he clamped a van belonging to a couple of pikeys. (proper pikeys!)
One of them was the biggest bloke Ive ever seen , and when the clamper refused to let him go without paying £50 the pikey grabbed him and rubbed his head against a brick wall till he let him off!!
Funny as Fook!!
Never saw the theiving shitbag again!!

you dont have to collect the car, they towed it, if ya wanna be really funny about it get a letter confirming its broken down by a mobile mechanic ( theres a few on here that will do it im sure)

then ya not parked but broken down, they will have to refund the money they payed out by law

but if ya dont collect it then they either aucton it or crush it and take the car as lou of payment

trust me i used to be a traffic warden and thats how it works, they will tell ya to pay the fine or face court as they cant auction a shitty car to recover the cost of the daily charges

trust me i do know what im talking about, the reason the charges are so high is they can keep the money in the even of a auction, if the car fetches more that you owe them they have to give you back the balance

ask anyone who works in a pound as they usually dont tow shitty cars., they clamp them

why do ya think they dont clamp or tow abandoned vehicles, they aint worth the hassle as they dont get payed for em, they just sit there using room then need for the in and out tow jobs

any problems pm me
