Default Sti or M3

Got the chance of either, what do I pick? Everyday car, used for work and the odd track day while EIL is being rebuilt for the 100th time. Can't decide and time is/will run out. 96 Impreza - 95 BM.

Has anyone driven both these cars? It's a hard choice, Impreza is fast (and the STi has the better pistons ), handles very well and is mucho grin factor. BM is better built, quick but slower than STi, handles well, but more expensive. I do however like the BM just for pose value

4.9 to 60 for the STi, 6 secs for the M3. M3 does feel a slightly quicker over 100, but that could be decieving. Don't forget it's an everyday car aswell. If it were purely for the track the Impreza would win hands down, but considering it will spend most of its life on the road the BM looks the better choice but who's to say it will stay that way. The Impreza would be very simple to get more horses out of should I get bored

It is the unluckiest car I have ever had. I hate it, if I didn't feel emotionally attached I would love to torch it

owned them both mate owned a 96 M3 evo 321bhp and a 01 impreza P1, 276bhp ish, these I guess are similar comparisons to what your asking although my m3 has what 40bhp more than the older one your talking about and the sti doesnt come close to the P1.

buy the scooby if you want all weather performance

buy the M3 if you want, class, reliability, and tail happy performance, these are dangerous in the winter

Yeah ive driven both, got to say, the accleration of the M3 for a non-turboed engine, is just awesome, power from the start to finish proper thrill to drive.

Drove an Sti, quite fun, but there tempremental things, (if thats how ya spell it lol) nice kick when turbo comes in, handlings pritty nippy on em, they do hold the road, but as above about the engines, my mates one has done 17k and is starting to chuck out Blue smoke at low revs.

M3 For me it would be.

M3's are for drug dealers and pimps. Sti's are for pimps and posers.............

What you really need is a nice Audi S4, the best of both worlds.
