Default can some one explain 'turbo specs' please?

I know a little about this, but you know what they say about a little knowledge......

whats the difference between a .48, .55, .60 exhaust housing? is it smaller number = less lag but less top end power?

size of the compressor wheel effects what?

Trim? whats the differencebetween 52 or 56 trim in the turbos performance?

I assume the compressor maps require the flow rate of a head and the required pressure and you work off of an area of the map.

If anyone can explain some of this SIMPLY I would be thankfull.

The larger the Exhaust housing the more lag but less restrictive it is. 0.48 is the size.

Trim is the size of the compressor.

The larger the Trim the more air it can flow.

so far then-

a .48 exhaust housing will give less lag and also less top end power due to restriction than a .55 or .63

Trim is the size of the compressor but is that the wheel or housing inlet? will a large trim and a small exhaust housing fight each other upon operation??

Is trim and the compressor wheel size related directly?

Have you all read the:

"How a large turbo makes more power than a small turbo with the same boost pressure" essay i wrote?

Its very relevant

ermmmmmmmmmmmmmm ... nope

so ok .. on another tangent ..
if you have a stage 3 chip set up to a standard t3 turbo (cossie) but then want to change it for a t 35/34 .. i would suspect that the fueling pressure would have to be increased???

Thats the one about shifting a larger volume of air etc etc.

Really just a quick knock down of what the relivant numbers relate to in performance.

Really simple not techie talk please.

Lets not get this into teh Q&A section as I don't think many people go there.
