got the engine in got the pump decoded bla bla bla went to fire up and it ran then cut out so started bleading the injectors and pump ,then the bottom sprocket on the timing chain the locating pin snapted ,so the t/b tensioner sprung and bent a valve, so i changed the valve etc and the sprocket but when putting the pully bolt on with the gun the pully was rotating when the bolt was fully tightend( can turn pully by hand just when the impact of the gun was on it ) just didnt seem right the boss says we need it out the garage by the end of the month so just looking for some pointers, i have fully rebuilt
3 zetec turbo engines and 1 cossie and all are still going very strong

but i havent got a f..king clue when it comes to diesels

thanks tommy

there is only a locating pin on the sprocket and that is located as we just finished the pump timing ,dont know if you know the engines ,but its a chain from crank(sprocket) to pump then a belt from pump to cam shite set me thinks, but anyhow bottom pully is just flush and it sits hard against the sprocket ,thats why i am confused it still moves ??

any help would be great
and thanks so far for the replies

thats what i thought
another guy stripted the engine and i was left to rebiuld it everything else looks good but this looked dodgy ,,any 1 know if its ment to have a washer infront of the bolt (the bolt looks like a bonded washer is on it but there also has a recess on the pully that looks like there could be a washer missing)

thanks for the help guys need to get this done within the month

I would have thought it would have had a locating pin like you do on a cam pully or as davecosworth says a big washer to make it a pressure fit pic's would help
