How to turbocharge a 1.6L '76 Taunus engine???
Hy !!..i have a taunus from 1976.it has a 1.6L engine, 54 kW. In my country is very hard to change the engine with a bigger one from a sierra for example. So i was thinking to upgrade this engine..low taxes, no problem with homologation the new engine..etc.
So i wonder is it possible to turbo charge it
, and what does it takes. How much it will cost me..
If u can help me..pls do it..
Thanks. bye

everything is possible
i would use a kit off a 2.0l injection pinto,Turbo technics done a kit a long time ago
so u will have to seach ebay etc..
this kit will have all the bits u need!! all u will have to find is a inj manifold and loom fit a fuel pump..
BUT as the 2.0 inj pinto came with uprated pistons your 1.6 one will poss need changing so use low comp forged ones for more boost
with a ecu change ported head and a turbo cam from kent cams u could see a good bhp gain also the 1.6 revs really well so go for it
