Default S2 TPS... how important is this??

Well, as some off you know, my car is running bad for quite a while.
Now I have a professional multimeter I am measuring some things, and everything seems to be allright in the management system, except for the TPS.

How important is this sensor for enrichment on full throttle???
What values should I be reading, I know there is a spply voltage from the ecu of 9,5-10V.
Mine isn't returning anything, unless you call 0,002V a return value...

Thnx in advance

I managed to get hold of another TPS from a friend of mine, measured it, got lots more reaction on the multimeter and I mounted it.
So I went for a spin, and the car goes much better, huge difference!!!

BUT!!!

When I floor it in the higher gears, this is where you have the time to notice it, fully floored it pulls, but when I lift my foot a little, it pulls a little bit harder, but not allways...

CRITICAL is the word.

If it fails you WILL LOSE FULL BOOST ENRICHMENT = new engine please

The TPS is just 2 switches on these, it tells the ECU when its at idle, and full throttle, that is it!

Well, it doesn't die immediatetly cos mine is still running, and the importance of the TPS is now clear to me after the huge difference with my mates TPS fitted...

Still remains the last question, what can cause the engine to pull harder with less throttle on higher speeds, 100+ Mph.... Does it need more fuel?? Bad injectors?? Something else??

Yea it will continue to run for a while, but we all know what longterm underfuelling does to headgaskets and pistons the switch is the SOLE component that triggers the full load enrichment.

As for thw running fault, my first RST had an issue with not pulling properly in higher gears which i seemed to dissapear when i fitted a new TPS - the old one was knackered but i wasted £40 on a new one cos i pulled the old one apart and it only had dry solder joints inside
