Default cosworth cam belt

what way do you turn the cambelt tensioner clockwise or anticlockwise to tension the belt when changing the cambelt thank alot dave

Turn it clock wise, if you do it the other way it will rub thermostat housing.

Anti-clockwise I think m8

Try it and find out,sure if you do it clockwise it lowers the belt,which makes it touch thermostat housing

Anti-clockwise lifts the belt up into a vertical position,so the belt clears thermostat housing

Just checked the autodata cd and definitely says turn tensioner clock wise.
