i downloaded this new superman film yesterday, now im not gunna burn it cos i dont have a dvd writer, well not yet anyway.
anyhow when i click it, windows media player opens, i get sound but no picture, so im guessing i need another type of programme to watch it, if so what please.

belive it or not this is the first film ive downloaded so not got a clue

got media player 11 if that makes any difference?

yeah thats the job, i had to download that for media player 11 aswell, now you can watch any xvid films

 

Usually the xvid or divx codec will help play any film you have

 

yeah i had some things that wouldn't play that a mate gave me and now they do

For anything that doesn't work, like that, have a look for a program called AVICodec (Google finds it). Download that, and open the media-file in it - it'll tell you which audio & video codec you need to play the file, and give you a download-link to obtain it/them.

 

 

Fuck using WMP for watching movies you need to get the VLC media player from here www.videolan.org
