Default i dont really know where to put this....

i need an invertor / inverter so i can use my car audio amp at home.

it does 1kwrms at 14v, at 1ohm, but ill be using it at 4ohm. i need an inverter that plugs into the mains and has power outs so i can wire a 4gauge power wire from the amp to the inverter. only i can only find inverters that let you use laptop or home hifi in car. any help please ?

Should be in audio or general mate, you'll get more response in there anyway

Exactly - an "off the shelf" converter will not be able to supply the power conversion needed for when you get power spikes - IE, a track that suddenly demands a shed load of bass for a second or two.....

When me an my bro set up his Soundstream Ref 700 amps in the living room, powering a pair of Dynaudio components and a JL sub, we ran em off two boat batteries Big big big bastids. Hooked em up to a linked charger and had no probs
