Well.... on saturday i was on a 2 lane roundabout going straight across.... on the left... a megane on the right lane.... both going round... went slightly ahead and all of a sudden i hear a big bang... the divvy bitch had drifted into my lane and hit the middle of my car with her front passenger side....

Here is the damage ( i know... the car needs a serious clean!!)

Spoke to the insurance Monday and they said they dont see how she can try and say its my fault cause of the position of the damage.... So this afternoon i've got to take it to a few garages for quotes!

I didnt realise how bad the damage was till i took pics in the sunlight this morning I nearly cried !

Hopefully it wont be too long until she's as good as new again!

 

Had something similar in March this year, was again on a 2 lane roundabout in the right hand lane going straight across, guy in a metro in the left hand lane also going straight across.... As we exited the roundabout he decided he was gonna try and go right, via the front wing of my car!! At the time he admitted liability and due to the low value of my car we agreed to not take things further, he's now claiming that ive cut him up!!

oh dear, my car got bashed into as well and my insurance are pretty crap at the minute! lol

 

i'm with diamond and they've been pretty good about it all... they've passed me to a company called albany who deal with claiming from the 3rd party! And they were really helpful... and have said they will get me a courtesy car while mine is being fixed!

Hopefully it wont be too much of a hard job getting her insurance to pay out!

By the way to start with i couldnt see any damage because it blended in with all the dirt you coulda put a damp sponge over it before taking the pics so we could see better

 

i took the pics when i got to work this morning!!

been to a garage.. they said it needs a new door skin... rear arch repairing... and the plastic arch thing replacing... then sprayed!

they're gonna fax the estimate over to the insurance cause its a company they deal with

unfortunately i had the same accident with a van, and it wrote off one of my cars, and it was on going for over a year, and i had to buy another car.

word of warning though when my nova got written off i had to deal with that albany company and they were nothing but hassle. got me a loan car then moaned about how long i had it for cos i didnt have the money to buy another car until they paid me out.

i had some 17 yr old twat reverse into me when i was stationary, took six months to pay out because he claimed i reversed into him altho he hit my door!!!!

I hit a guy ones in the rear quarter on the rear right hand side he claimed he was in the right as he was going straight over so i said to go straight over you need 2 f&*king lane Luckly i was in my old landrover so did'nt make that had to call the poilce to sort it and they told me i was int the wrong as i was under taking i was in my lane he f78king hit me Anyway it all got sorted and i was proven in the right

well... as an update!

5 months down the line i'm still waiting to get the car sorted!

The woman took 3 months to report it... and now her insurance are trying to settle for 50/50... so her insurance will give me 50% of the repair cost...

An estimator came round today and has given me a repair cost of Ł500-Ł600, he said that no parts actually need replacing and he is basing it on Ł25-Ł28 per hour labour charge instead of Ł32 which most garages charge!

So now i'm just waiting on the accurate estimate and then working out whether to settle and find the remaining money or to keep battling it out!

Might see where i stand legally at disputing the estimate as i have 3 garage quotes which are all Ł800+....

I know i will lose my NCB but i'm already paying a new premium with No NCB so it wont make a difference to the price... just means i got to rebuild the no claims this year...

It'll go 50:50 unless you have a witness, there is nothing to prove or disprove she went into you or you cut the lane on the round about leaving her no room and you actully hitting her. sorry to be the bearer of bad new.

 

do know the situation but my legal advisers dont want me to settle.. as she didnt report it for 3 months, ignored letters from her insurers and mine, stopped dead in the middle of a busy rounabout with 2 young children in the car, failed to provide an address, failed to provide a statement when asked, then said i overtook her when i was on the left!

they've got a lot to throw back at her insurers to get more than 50%

but i will see as like i said, i dont know if i can be bothered to keep battling it out! i just want my car fixed!

 

Utter rubbish

I was hit in the passenger door a few years ago on an island by a turd who wasnt looking where he was pulling out, no witnesses. I refused 50:50 about three times and they eventually settled in full

You just have to be firm and stick to your guns

 

I will see what happens and what the accurate quote is and what the 3rd party are prepared to pay me! Then go from there!
