Default SMOKY 52 REG MONDEO TDCI

Please could any of you help me. I have a 52 reg mondeo tdci, its recently had oil, and filters replaced and is now kicking out black smoke under acceleration, i know a little bit is normal for a diesel but this appears to be quite excessive. It's due its mot soon and don't want it to fail on emissions, so please any advice/solutions would be most welcome
Thank you

Yes, the throttle response is extremely sluggish and slow to pick up, seems to lack mid-range grunt as well.

EGR valve stuck open mate very common. It will feel like a different car when you put a new one on.
