Default my s2 to efi conversion small update 10/02/07

done this cos iam fed up of my mfi system playing up all the time


ok old loom out as iam changing the complete loom to a xr3i efi one




efi parts arriving

inlet manifold


bottom pully,alternator pully and mounting bracket


sierra cvh cam cover


edis module and coil pack


acclerator cable and pedal


all mfi parts removed off engine


pully and cam cover modified to fit


now the rebuild

bottom pully fitted





loom nearly finished


cps fitted


nearley there



new fuel feed pipe


a bit of paint and its done





just the rusty arch to do now

engine bay looking sweet, there's loads of room now the metering unit has gone. loving the mods!

cost me about £400 inc chip and injectors

it boosts alot smoother doesent feel as raw but its over fueling ( black smoke on boost ) so setup is next
but the starting issues i have always had are all gone fires up first attempt that was the main reason for me doing it

Me too, could you list the parts needed, plenty of EFI inlet's on ebay but unsure of rest of parts needed, wiring etc.

sorry for asking but if you do not have any issues what are the advantages of going to EFI and do they justify the effort

sierra cvh 1800 bottom pully machine work needed
sierra 1800 chv cam cover with cps cover need to be cut down
mfi to efi adapter plate or efi head
fiesta turbo inlet manifold c/w injector wiring fuel rail etc
xr3i efi 1990 loom cps wire needs extending and the fan plug will need to be extended and the origional plug used
fiesta turbo charge carrier and 90 spec rockercover
ofac fiesta turbo ecu and map sensor for ease of fitment
accelerator pedal off a carbed mk4 escort and cable from a zetec escort
sierra 1800 cvh alternator mounting bracket and adjusting arm also u will need the alternator pully

thats just roughley off the top of my head

its easy just use the 3i main loom the only problen i had was the interior clock and the o/s interior switch

been a while since my last update cos of health problems

arch repaired


should of checked the other side before it went in


got my s1 kit ready to be fitted


progress is slow but its getting there

ok decided to assemble my arb it has beed to the powder coaters and with new lower arms poly bushes and nuts/washers it looks like new
