Default New Brakes

Hi Guys,

Not a resto but a couple of mods I've done recently. After having MAJOR problems with a Brembo front brake set-up on my RST I eventually had to buy another set of new brakes

325 x 28 mm Hy-Spec discs + Alloy 4 pot calipers and Mintex Pads - Retails at aprox £1050 !! [Although I bought them 2nd hand after covering approx 2500 miles].

I also put a pair of brand new from Ford drive flanges and bearings.

Fitted my MEF Adjustable TCA's and Stud Conversion from APTuning

Pics:

Couple of them in action:

The post was a touch mis-leadng.....I had problems with brake judder but it was more than likely caused by excessive run-out on the hubs rather than the disc/calipers.

Odd...I was quite happy with what I got for them on E-Bay

Radders......The Hy-Spec have been awesome so far I know they get some stick from different peeps but I can honestly say I am amazed at the build quality!! I mean look at the quality of the CNC machined mounting bracket and then look at that in comparison to the bits of steel plate with nuts welded to it some people use to mount there calipers!

They fitted like a dream...straight on no mods needed! The way it should be!!

Performed well on track although I think it needs a slightly better pad than the Mintx 1144's as I did get a touch of pad fade towards the end of the session [going to try DS2500's next ]

Overall

n.b. And I only paid £440 for them

Hows your shell comingon? Though it might have been done by now! I must admit I have been toying with the idea of a RWD conversion for a number of months!!

Is Danny doing your cage at the same time?

You'll have to take me for a passenger session in yours to try and convince me!!

Looking forward to seeing it.

Are you having all new tunnels etc... Rather than Sierra bits welded in [this method has never really appealed to me!!]
