Default How do the Focus ST's compare against the Cosworths ?

Just wondering if anyone has owned both cars and how they compare to drive / own ?

I've a K plate Cosworth and a Volvo V70 T5 and I like driving them both for different reasons. I'd be interested to hear peoples opinions as I am considering a Focus ST.

Cheers

Steve

I don't think the Focus engine is very tuneable if its anything like the Volvo's. 300 bhp seems to be the limit before major modifications are needed.

Saying that it looks pretty quick on paper to start with so I don't imagine you'd ned more than 300 bhp.

I think the Focus ST looks very good though. Think I'll have to organise a test drive.

I had an Escort Coss, now got an ST. Certainly not as much road presence and i'd say the Coss handled better as well (not by much though). Can't comment on power as the escort was modded.
The focus puts it's power down nicely and is alot better to drive but i'd still prefer my Coss back, needed a new (reliable) car though. Book a test drive, i doubt you'll be dissapointed

The T5 I have is a very nice drive but definetly isn't as enjoyable as the Cosworth. The Volvo is too smooth and I think this takes some of the fun out of it.
Thanks for you replies. I'll book a test drive for August I think and I'll let you know what I think.

Cheers

Hi there - in Performance Ford next month, there will be a 450bhp Focus ST still with the Volvo 5-pot engine, more info when the mag comes out. In about a month.
