Anyone who owns a hot tub
Thinking of getting one
but abit worried about how much electric they use, and chemicals. Don't have a clue how long the heater will be on per day once its heated up. Shop said about 2 hrs a day at 3KW which is approx 50p a day based on 8p a unit. I would imagine the heater would be on way more than that anyone got any facts?
Ive got a hot tub, the heater isnt on as much as u might think, these things are VERY well insulated and once up to heat take forever to cool back down!!
make sure u buy a good quality one though!!.
also there are plenty of chemical suppliers online where u can get chlorine etc VERY cheap!!

Im not really sure, i reckon about £15-20 extra electricity a month, yes i could switch it off over night but that would bugger up the automatic filtration process.

just to inform anyone that dosn't no, they are designed to be left on 24/7. They normally take over 24hrs to get to temperature i believe and will cost you more if you turn it on and off every time you want to use it. thanks for the info guys.

I've got a hot tub, its a 6 seater Coast Spa's http://www.coastspas.com/ item cost about £8K a few years back. They have a UK distributor somewhere in Bristol drop them an email and they'll tell you who it is.
It takes about an hour per degree to warm up hence you simply can't turn 'em off they are not like a kettle LOL! Ours is kept at 37 degrees anything hotter than body temperature and I find you start sweating and can't stay in LOL!
I reckon the electric bill is knocking on the door of £30 per month, to be honest best in the winter when its freezing cold
