Default Gear box and power question...

When you upgrade your cars power, Chip, Bigger turbo etc your car will be quicker. but If you dont change the gearbox will your top speed stay the same? As in your still going to hit max rmp in top gear. And that will be no different as your using the standard gear box?

Am i right or wrong?

Cheers ben.

Yes the top speed will stay the same, and if it is much quicker you will probably leave most of the gearbox on the floor in pieces

top speed will increase in most occasions...

depends where peak power is, and if you can hit the limiter in top, almost all cars cant, so more top end power will increase their top speed.

hence how skylines can do well over 200mph on standard gearing when modded.

dont take a fucking genius to notice that. you think every RST or Cossie that can go faster than their standard top speeds have had their gearing fucked with?

One more question lol On most car games you can buy a gear box which you can change the ratios of? Is this possible in real life or just a game thing?

no you can't change ratio's by winding a dial.

by opening it up and replacing gears you can tho
