As you can see im no post whore but i feel quite strongly about this...

For Members:-

Ł180 for the track
Ł20 for a support vehicle
Ł10 passengers (But prob for charity(Local air ambulance)
And THEN, previously each track entrant received 4 pit passes, but this year you only get 2, but with the option of buying more for Ł10 each

I understand that Donno have put the price up substantially but why kick the arse out of the track entrants who provide so much entertainment all day? After all if it wasnt for the track it would just be another static show

There. Ive said it. I feel better.

How many people on track? I'm sure the club could assist in subidising track entry this year..

The cost is the very reason I'm not going on track, and not even going to go at all. Absolute disgrace if you ask me.......

but ... there are other track days that are more expensive .. aswell as ones that are cheaper ..
you will find a core element that always seem to do national day every year, so do you make it a quiet day and exclude most of the high powered cars (and some of the lousy driving standars like last year) or leave it as a noisy day and have all the faster cars ??

not easy to keep everyone happy really is it ?? most things go up in price every year ... (except rscombe day)

This has all been done to death - new venues for Nat Day. You have to take into consideration how easy a venue is to get to. Dono is easy for the Scots & Northerners by just being off the M1 and for all those travelling from the south & midlands too by a good linkage of motorways. There is an airport that foreign members can fly into.

The layout at Dono is good too.

Donno is perfect for nat day

But if its getting far to expensive then why do the rsco give vip passes etc to every tom dick and harry ?? give the members the benifits not hangers on

The price for the track is a joke , how can the average working man afford that

All the rsoc seem to be doing is pissing off its members and they then question why membership is falling

Considering how much the club makes just from this day, it should be a lot cheaper than this.

the other rsoc track days manages to hire the track, fill it and make a little bit etc.....thats just a small club too.

how much on the gate this year Ł10, Ł15 each, must be thousands in there too.

how much for the traders etc...all mounts up.

don't make me sit there and google all the trackday websites please

just look at the shambles that was the expert sessions last year, i dont think that was worth 100quid let alone 180!

infact it probably works out better value for money buying 15min sessions @ TRAX

Stop moaning...

Either go or don't go its as simple as that.

Ł180 is still cheap for a summer trackday.

I guess if they do away with that shite F1 van thing they could just run a normal 98db trackday and then we'd all be bored looking at Fiestas and Pug 205's going round all day.

Come to think of it that would suit me fine

croft, bedford elvington, brunters if fact any big runway has enough space for a show and track, cars can park on grass you know!!
I did say down size aswell, nat day is a victim of it's own success and the price increases cannot continue I have been to every nat day since 1994 and have throughly enjoyed them but we can't keep throwing nearly 100K at a one day event it may one day come back and financially cripple the club.

steve

ps the tone of your reply was way ott btw cheers!!

Find somewhere from this then, this is the average for what ever track company you use. Morning or afternoon session Ł115 each session, so I would dearly love someone to enlighten me and explain exactly why Nat Day is expensive, especially for a noisy day. BTW its Ł210 for non-members.

http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/ou...&Submit=Search

I had a text tonight from Track-Sport.... a 98db day on July 23rd at Dono.... Ł199.00

PMSL at these suggestions..... croft, bedford elvington, brunters if fact any big runway has enough space for a show and track

Ł180 is a very good price for a no noise Donno trackday in summer.

Well, it would be if you got more than 5 mins tracktime (last year anyway )

Trackdays are getting mega expensive this year!

Why are you people comparing this to a book-a-track day or any other day at Donnington?

Most summer days at Donno are what, Ł220?

Now bear in mind that it's not simply the circuit that is being hired, but the entire venue, PLUS Donnington are recieving a certified full attendance from a solid reputable buyer.

Also consider that it it (or was) a members only day, and that the club are supposed to offer a subsidy. From what I remember, BaT days haven't gone up more than Ł10 since last year, so I fail to see the comparison.

Consider that regular trackday attendees such as myself wont be going (for the first time in 6 years) purely because it is cost prohibitive, and obviously there is a problem. Is this not highlighted by the fact that the day hasn't even sold out yet, where last year, it was sold out within three days?

so the club being charge 48K for donnington is good value then

I take it that you believe there isn't anywhere else that you think is suitable in this country to hold national day then?

very blinkerd imo

Steve - Elvington and Brunters IS a shit idea.

So is Croft, as it's not central enough.....

It has to be Donnington for all the obvious reasons....

Just to reinforce the price of UK track days in general, I just came back from Nurburgring, and I paid in 8-lap passes, each at 108 euros. That roughly equates to 70quid for the 8 laps.

Sound expensive? Not so - 1 lap at the Nurburgring = 14miles (20k). Multiply that by 8, that gives you an awful lot of Donny length laps!!

I know it isnt the same etc, and I am not having a go at Donny specifically, but please somebody with lots of money buy Devon, and build our very own Nurburgring

rich im not saying they are the answer but I was asked to give an example, totb seems to manage at elvington.

I don't wanna leave donno at all but the overall package is getting too expensive, I'm not just on about the track price it's the cost to the club overall that worries me.

IMHO Ł180 is a bit of a piss take but unfortunatly its not the RSOC's Fault its all down to Donny Trying to reclaim some cost's for the new pits and tower But never the less should be a good weekend

Be good to see a few Scoobys and Evo's mixing in to reduce the snobbery .... eh Dave

The way people have moaned and whinged about Nat Day, especially the cost of track are doing a good job, to probably ensure that track will be dropped from future Nat Days. Is that what everyone wants, it reverting back to a static show?

The price for a noisy day is far cheaper than you would get anywhere else, so stop bloody boycotting it! If you can't afford it - fine, if you can that's fine too!

Just keep it up folks and spoil it for others

so in your opinion if you cant afford it its your tough shit ?? not very nice is it , the idea of the club is to help everybody in the club , not just them with a fat wallet
