check out mine http://82.7.221.63:4570

yes thats a real time live image of my car under CCTV right now.

Full blown CCTV system, really easy to setup and use. Heaps of features that should suffice for this kind of application.

And all for £17!!! Or if you mail the guy about his ebay discounts you can get if for £7.95!

Here's the blurb...

With CAM Wizard it's possible to set up a multiple camera CCTV audio/video surveillance system with motion detection capabilities in a matter of seconds. You can use any video device that's compatible with WindowsXP™.

CAM Wizard monitors the video feed from your camera, sophisticated motion detection algorithms look for motion in the scene, our state of the art algorithms make sure that false trigger events are minimised.

After motion is detected video and audio is captured as a compressed WMV movie and instantly archived straight to your hard drive or network drive.

CAM Wizard features Time Slide technology which is pre-event triggering of video capture. So video recording can start BEFORE any motion gets detected. For example: if someone walks into frame then the archived footage will start some time before the motion was detected. An amazing feature, only found on the best and most expensive CCTV systems.

You also have the option of automatically sending the captured footage as Email. CAM Wizard features a built in SMTP server that doesn't require any user interaction with outlook express etc. Just leave CAM Wizard running in your system tray and let it capture detected motion into a WMV file that is then sent efficiently and discreetly to any email address.

CAM Wizard also features a robust FTP upload engine, so it can be used to push live cam JPEG pictures onto a web server using the standard FTP protocol. This allows you to even view a webcam that's behind a corporate firewall, very handy for setting up an office cam or cubicle cam.

CAM Wizard also has a robust HTTP server built right into the application enabling it to broadcast live JPG video feed to the internet. We supply you with a static URL to access your cam page and remote view up to four cams from anywhere in the world. You don't need to install any special software in order to view your cam. Just wander into any internet cafe and enter your cam URL. Unlike most other solutions Cam Wizard also features UPNP technology, so it works straight away through most routers and firewalls.
CAM Wizard can pretty much do it all, motion detection, video capture, emailing, archiving, FTP upload, HTTP image server etc. If you're not sure whether CAM Wizard can help you then we can only recommend that you give the FREE 30 day trial download a quick spin on your system, we think you'll be suprised at just how powerful and flexible CAM Wizard is!

For more information about CAM Wizard see the info page or check out the online user guide where you can see screen shots of the application in use. Or if you got questions, see the FAQ.

Chrissy_bwoy, yup exactly the reason I've made sure that my system is now fully up-to-date running 24hrs and with enough disk space to record months of footage!

I may also be requiring your help to fit that proper CCTV camera I bought ages ago outside! Im still using a web cam at the mo.

R4N S S, the feed goes out on port 4750 (which you can change to anything you like) are you in an office? its possible your corporoate firewall is not allowing traffic on this port.

it doesnt come with any hardware. you have to supply that your self.

At the moment Im just using a logitech web cam. which has about 2 meters of lead on it.

but you can easily use a tv capture card and a proper CCTV camera or even the proper 4 in 1 capture cards that are for sale on ebay.

I did a similar thing using NSV Tools and Nullsofts shoutcast. All totally free and works perfect if you have a USB webcam and a bit of PC knowhow

The software provides your pc with all the tools you need to make a CCTV system out of your PC.

the only other thing you need is a feed. This can be from a web camera, camcorder, tv capture card, or a proper CCTV camera.

the problem I can see with this is that would-be thieves may even be able to hack into and find out where your car is kept or even watch the video feed without you knowing.

Most camera software that comes with webcams can usually do all that funky shit.

as with anything, you're paying to make it convenient.

i could go out and dig up some iron ore for free and light a fire and melt it into a sheet and bash it about until i have an escort cosworth but it's much easier in the end to go and spend the money to buy one that someone already made

R4N S S, then you can turn this function off. everything is modular. you just turn on the functions you want. If your not happy watching still images from a web browser then you can configure it to email you with the video clip of the footage that set it off.

pmsl @ foreigneRS

Its not the most advanced CCTV system you can get. but its perfect for a budget easy to use system that requires nothing more than windows XP and a camera!

Here's some pics of the setup.

Here's the control window..

Here's the option where I choose an area on the screen that it monitors for movement to trigger the recording off.

Here's where you set the scheduler if you only want it to record at certain times.

Here's where you set the disk management so that it clears out older footage and stops your hard disk filling up.

Here's the motion trigger turned on and you can see where its picked up a car driving past.

And here's all the seperate events its captured today!

I think it records for a short time after motion is detected.. so it would capture the fookers

I am guessing that depends on the night vision quality of the camera.
