Default Track Time National Day 2006

So as above...who's doing it? I've done it for the past couple of years and did Saturday and Sunday 2005. This year there is track time ONLY on Sunday and I believe the prices are as follows:

Track Time £180.00 (Sessions - 30 cars per session)
Additional Driver £25.00
Advance Entrance Ticket £10.00
Support Vehicle £20.00

Bit of a hike since last year. Also I contacted Donington direct this afternoon and they confirmed that they themselves are running a track day on the Saturday (19th August) sessions unless low interest in which case it will become open pitlane for £135.00.

Total then for the weekend on track is upwards of £315.00 depending on if you have a tow vehicle, go on your own etc. Saturday will be the usual noise limit with Sunday once again being a Noisy Day. National Day Track etc applications in the next issue of Rallye News due to be through our doors early next week.

Your thoughts...

Matt

£200 quid is VERY expenisive....

Its only £250 for a noisey day with open pitlane....

I think i might give it a miss...

Just checked and its £395 for open pitlane @ dono on a loud day.

£200 is still VERY expensive....

Its a £350 day for me then and i only live ten mins away.......

Not sure its worth it cause it was so bad for track time last year...

£180?

You're having a laugh! What constitutes that price hike then?

That's up 50% on last year, and last year was shocking!

Having been on track for the last 4 years, I think I'll pass this one.

Oh sorry Lynne, 35%

I paid £240 a couple of years ago for both days, including tickets and entrance, ! £180 sounds a fortune in comparison!

It does, but like any other track that has had work done, the increase is offset to the punters. You can't get tracktime at Oulton Park now for under £200.

I think you would get a hell of a shock if you knew what Dono charges the RSOC for hiring it for for Nat Day and the truly mind boggling difference in cost between a non-noisy day and a noisy day

If you remember, I had all sorts of temperature issues that day, of which I'm sure you will agree from our lap of the Ring, are now resolved .

I'm still going to do it and will no doubt do Saturday too direct with Donington. £600+ weekend for me and my bro inc ferry crossing from the Isle of Wight diesel for tow vehicle, fuel for both days and two overnight stops in the Hoilday Inn just down the road.

Still it's the 1 track day per year where spare parts are on tap from the trade stands and the autojumble when your car suddenly develops problems - (Like I found out last year!!)

I think you mean my car is "sub-zero" . How many other cars did you go in that hit 157mph on the section out of Flugplatz? ?

Booked for Saturday.

Can't be bothered with the Sunday after last years fiasco, nowhere near enough track time for my liking.

Either way Lynne, that day is now cost prohibitive for those of us not running on a "fuck what it costs" budget.

It's a considerable increase, and bearing in mind the farce of last year, and the diabolical driving standards (as trackdays have become uber fashionable), an increase is an insult.

As far as I'm concered, no National Day is worth two Bedford days out for me.

.
Rich, an insult by whom? It's not the RSOC's fault that costs have risen, nor is it their fault that there were total cocks out on track last year who ruined it for a lot of people, including me.

I just hope that those guilty for ruining last year's track will ensure that this year, their cars are properly prepared and also have learnt a lesson by the slating of their driving standards.

Well that looks like a big chunk towards the next Ring trip

I didn't enjoy last year at all due to a few braking/ suspension issues with the car and the Fiesta showering everyone and the track with gravel.

Best part of the day for me was nailing Porkie down the pit straight ( Before he passed me and puoled away i might add )

I was in a non-RS last year, and have been a full paid-up member of the RSOC since 1999.

What's your point?

Your German is nit as good as I thought it was, as I was told it's literal translation is actually "flying place" and the speed you approach that yump, it feels like you're going to take off .
