Default leagal number plate sizing ?????

hi,can any one out there let me know what the legal lettering size is for car registratrion plates,basically im wanting to know if it can be any smaller than the standard lettering and still be legal??
any info much appreciated,

so long as there is 11mm of reflective showing around the outside edges of the numbers then yes it is legal. However i doubt that all Police will probably know this!

i guess sticking black lettering only over the white bumper aint gonna cut the mustard if i get a stop check then

No mate afraid not! Its got to have the correct grading reflective backing!

I do make them if you want one. (Will be trading at FITP this weekend as well)
