that is misery.

i did the same, but the examiner was sure that i didn't need to have put my foot down to stay in control of the bike during the manouvre so he let it go.

it's a largely irrelevant manouvre anyway in day to day riding anyway so why is it part of the test? i suppose that it does demonstrate a basic control, but putting you rfoot down just as a confidence boost rather than to help the manouvre should not be a fail for the whole test if everything else went well imo.

When i did my test the bloke followed me round in a car!

To say it was the easiest test i've ever done is an understatement, I spent half the time waiting on the side of the road for him to catch up.

I actual hit the kurb on my U turn but coz the bloke was on his way back to get in his car, he missed it

Not taking the piss or anything mate, your safer in a car anyway

I agree, its a manouvre i will never use once i pass....not worth risking dropping the bike when ya can walk it round SAFER My instructor was furious about it too Says it pisses him off that someone can do a ride with no minors and fail on the U, but yet someone else do the U right and get 15 minors and pass....i mean whos the safest FFS?

Thats what I meant.....you can do it ok on a sit up and beg learner bike....but trying to do it on a sports bike is V difficult. So whats the point, I just drag both my feet all the way around

john
whats so difficult about it mate?
the sports bikes have a much tighter turning circle and it becomes a caker in comparison IMO

I just find my bike quite unstable at low speed because the steeing is so twitchy! Also the throttle comes right up against the tank so you end up revving it to about 10k whilst doing 2 mile an hour!!

I just find it much easier with my feet off the pegs

its a bit hard to describe properly but theres a roundabout here that has a bus lane going straight over on LHS but cars must go straight over in right lane and other side of rabout is only 1 lane. It hadnt always been like that. I came to rabout to head straight across and got stuck at front of queue on rabout for AGES! i was in the correct lane(RHS) but eventually when i got to go i mega over did the checks and began to head towards left lane as you would normally go across in. i realised my mistake as i was on white line and did life saver to correct lane. Still failed though even though i checked and knew nothing was there

passed second test with 0 minors because i was that determined! like you i had already bought a bike and it was sitiing waiting for me! was about this time of year 3years ago. i couldnt get a test until 6th june think it was i passed!

feet down like the scootay boys

know what you mean about throttle touching tank and hitting 10k revs LOL

in a few months you'll realise its not hard at all. i felt the same to begin with.

Thats a shitter Chop....especialy when it was clear and you checked...

Whats annoying too is friday, my last das day, we did a really tight downhill mini roundabout that you have to turn almost back on yourself and go up hill again at the third exit. I said to Dave christ i hope i dont get that route on my test its a fooker of a turn.... Well i got that route and pissed round it

meant to say my mate failed his test about 2 months ago and guess what on?

they must make plenty ŁŁ out of retests because of U turn failures

just stick in and dont lose heart. it'll ALL be worth it!

I agree Chop. I really think they want to keep rider numbers down and thats why the u turn exists...

I mean where is the sense in this

Joe gets 15 minors(which is shit) and u turns perfectly.. Examiner passes him as he has displayed that he is safe to ride solo on the road...
Lee gets 0 minors but puts foot down on U turn, Examinier fails him as he is not safe on the road...ROFLMFAO...load of bollox isnt it!!!

Any ROFLMFAO i have emailed the DSA

Question being how does a U trun display wether or not a person is safe to ride solo on a motorcycle even if the said person gets 15 minor faults, whereas a person with no minors has displayed he is safe but didnt do the u turn perfect due to a little exam nerves...

Wont make no difference i just wanna see what shit they come out with

PMSL...its like a student getting every question right in an exam, but cos they didnt show the working out on one question they fail the whole lot

Yes i am bitter
