I have been trying to get wireless in my house and having big problems!

I have ntl cable and got a belkin adsl modem with high speed mode wireless g router.

the router is connected to the computer and has a signal but there is no internet connection!

Any one know how to get these running?

Any help much appreciated

Dont think you can use an ADSL modem / router with an NTL cable connection. How have you connected your ADSL modem to NTL?

Its always belkin gear that is troublesome. Best bet mate is ring belkin tech and they will guide you through the setup.

Usually there is a config wizard in the software of the router.

Good luck!

Mat.

As said, NTL is a cable modem (generally), not an ADSL connection, hence computer saying no

Agree with the above.

I replaced by Netgear 834GT Modem/Router with the equivilent Netgear router.

There is a routine to setting these up too:

Turn on STB or Modem and wait 2 mins
plug into router and switch on, wait 2 mins.
Plug ethernet cable into router and test connectivity
setup wireless on router and test
setup security on router (as long as no security wireless works)
