Lectron Valve info?

Just trying to find some info on the Lectron valve (amal valve) on the Big Turbo models?

Is there anyway of testing them? what will happen if I disconnect it?

as far as i know it works on the same sort of principle as the amal valve, so i suppose the consequences will be similar
